Final programme – Late registration deadline
The final programme of the ECCO 14 conference is now available. It includes detailed and updated information on each session, titles of lectures and speakers involved. Click here to download the pdf document. To have a complete overview of the sessions and posters relevant to surgical oncologists consult the surgical oncology track.
If you have not registered for the conference yet, do it before August 1st and you will still benefit from a reduced rate. After, you can only register at desk rate. Please note that ESSO members benefit from a 60 euros discount on the non member late rate. Simply tick the “ESSO member” box when filling out the registration form.

ESSO Traineeship Programme
The European Society of Surgical Oncology fellowship programme aims at supporting young surgeons, less than 40 years old, who wish to visit a European specialist center to develop their clinical or research experience and learn new techniques. The standard fellowships are worth 2.500 euros for a one-month training, whereas the major fellowhip amounts to 10.000 euros for a 3-12 months training.

ESSO partnership in the Flims workshop on methods in clinical cancer research
Every year, ESSO sponsors young surgical oncologists to participate in the Flims Workshop on clinical cancer research methods. This event is jointly organised by FECS, AACR and ASCO in summertime. The purpose of this intensive course is to learn essentials of clinical trials design.
In 2007, two young surgeons were selected, among other participants. Through extensive mentoring from experienced scientists they each developed and completed the writing of a clinical trial protocol that they will hopefully implement during their career.
The next Flims workshop will take place from 21 to 27 June 2008. Applications’ deadline is 15th Februrary 2008. More information available soon on the ESSO website.

REMINDER – ESSO 2007 membership
Have you renewed your membership to ESSO for 2007? If not, it is still time to do so by filling out a membership renewal form and returning it to the ESSO Secretariat. Membership to ESSO includes a subscription to the Journal of Cancer Surgery (EJSO). It also entitles to reduced registration fees to major conferences like ECCO, ESSO or EBCC and to specific courses.
