ECCO 14 - Surgical Oncology Track

23 – 27 September 2007, Barcelona, Spain

The European Cancer Conference (ECCO 14) is a multidisciplinary congress offering all oncologists from anywhere in the world a unique platform for exchanges of experience and know-how. Further, the congress offers a specific surgical oncology track throughout its scientific programme. A significant number of teaching lectures, special sessions, symposia, proffered papers and posters will be of particular interest to surgical oncologists.

All ESSO members registering to ECCO 14 benefit from a special rate. Simply tick the “ESSO member” box when proceeding with your registration. As full members of ESSO, members of national oncology surgical societies like BASO, NVCO, BSSO, ESSO France can also take advantage of this discount.

ESSO Traineeship Scheme

The European Society of Surgical Oncology fellowship scheme is intended to support young surgeons, less than 40 years old, who wish to visit a specialist center to expand their clinical or research experience and learn new techniques. The standard fellowships are worth 2.500 euros and allow a one-month training, whereas the major fellowhip amounts to 10.000 euros for a training of 3-12 months.

Training of Specialised Health Professionals dealing with Breast Cancer

The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA), the European School of Oncology (ESO) and the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS) have developed a training programme designed for young clinicians and nurses committed to breast cancer with the aim to improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in patient management. The programme consists of a comprehensive teaching package and a one-month training in a European Breast Unit.

This programme is made available thanks to an educational grant from the Federation of European Cancer Societies Special Projects Fund.
