Do not delay sending your application for the examination session in surgical oncology organised jointly by the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the European Board of Surgery of the UEMS during the ECCO 14 conference (23 - 27 September 2007, Barcelona).

The deadline for receipt of applications has been extended to 30 May 2007.

ESSO Training Fellowships

ESSO Education Committee is pleased to offer a number of training fellowships for young surgeons to visit a specialist centre and develop their experience or be trained in new techniques.

Each year, up to 10 standard fellowships, each worth 2500 euros, are offered for a 1 month training. One major training fellowship worth 10.000 euros is offered to support a surgeon who wishes to spend 3-12 months in a specialist centre to develop his/her clinical or research experience in surgical oncology.

Training of Specialised Health Professionals dealing with Breast Cancer

The European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) is a partner in a traineeship programme intended for young clinicians and nurses committed to breast cancer. Other partners are the European Society of Mastology (EUSOMA), the European School of Oncology (ESO) and the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS).

Selected candidates will spend one month in a European Breast Unit between January and April 2008 with the aim to improve their theoretical knowledge and their practical skills in patient management.

This programme is made available thanks to an educational grant from the Federation of European Cancer Societies Special Projects Fund.

EJSO – European Journal of Surgical Oncology

The European Journal of Surgical Oncology (EJSO) is the Journal of the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO) and the Association for Cancer Surgery (BASO). EJSO aims to educate and inform about the many subspecialty disciplines of cancer surgery. It is available in printed format and online.

Subscription to EJSO (10 issues a year) is included in the benefits of ESSO membership.
