Great success of the ESSO 2006 Congress
Over 920 delegates from all over the world attended the 13th Congress of the European Society of Surgical Oncology on Venice Lido from 30 Nov - 2 Dec and celebrated on this occasion the 25th Anniversary of the Society.
ESSO thanks all delegates for their participation and looks forward to an even greater attendance in The Hague for the 14th ESSO Congress that will take place on 10 - 12 September 2008.

ESSO Board of Directors 2007 - 2008
Professor Irving Taylor (UK) took over from Professor Luigi Cataliotti (I) the Presidency of ESSO at the end of the Venice Congress.
The General Assembly of December 1st elected Professor Cornelis Van de Velde (NL) to the post of President-elect. Three other new members were elected on the Board at the same time: Professor Serge Evrard (F), Professor Graeme Poston (UK), Dr. Somasundaram Subramanian (Ru).

ESSO new Administrator
After 18 years with ESSO, Fabienne Pilkiewicz is leaving the organisation for a well deserved retirement. Carine Lecoq is taking over from Fabienne as ESSO administrator.
Fabienne was celebrated in Venice in recognition of her dedication to ESSO and its members. We wish her all the best for the future.

2007 Membership fee
Members will soon receive an invitation to renew their membership to ESSO. The membership fee for 2007 is fixed at 120 euros and includes the subscription to EJSO. Membership to ESSO also entitles to reduced rates for participation in the ECCO conference and the ESSO Congress.
