European Society of Surgical Oncology Membership Renewal

Do not forget to renew your membership to ESSO. The fee for 2008 remains 120 euros (60 euros for trainees under 35 certified by a letter from the Head of their Department). It includes the subscription to EJSO and entitles to reduced rates for participation in ESSO designed and supported courses and in the biennial ESSO Congress (10-12 September 2008, The Hague, NL).

Advanced Course on Improving Clinical Skills in Early Breast Cancer
23 – 25 May 2008, Ljubljana, Slovenia

Organised jointly by the European School of Oncology (ESO) and the European Society of Surgical Oncology (ESSO), this three-day intensive course aims at facilitating the creation of a group of young European-minded senologists. The course will cover all aspects from epidemiology, screening, primary and secondary prevention, risk assessment, genetic counselling, molecular-biology, diagnostic procedures, interdisciplinary treatment modalities, rehabilitation, palliative care, special clinical situations, to psycho-oncological skills in the management of breast cancer. In addition, an essential part is to promote among participants the importance of controlled randomised trials in clinical oncology, multidisciplinary management and breast units, and patients advocacy.

Participation is based on competitive applications. Free registration and accommodation will be offered to successful candidates.
